This episode of the Dogwood Alliance‘s “What Is it Worth” brought Andrea, David and Jonathan on location in Pumpkintown, NC. Jim Sitts of Columbia Forest Products took us on a tour of a logging site on private land that has been under an active logging job for over a month. It is an Forest Stewardship Council certified operation and presented plenty of opportunity to explore how things were done differently here than business as usual especially HCVFs, water quality, limits on clearcuts, and lack of use of chemicals in forest management.
